The New Budgeting Expert In Town (Spoiler Alert, It’s Me)

Listen, if anyone knows how to budget, it’s me. After my mom passed away unexpectedly during my freshman year of high school, I became homeless. Being homeless at such a young age led to financial trauma, but it also taught me how to stretch whatever money I had. I’m also a cancer survivor who needed to tackle medical debt while feeding my cat. Scrambling to cover medical costs on a non-profit income while attending school led me to try out different budgeting styles and keep better track of my expenses. Last, I was diagnosed with ADHD in my early thirties. Suddenly, a lot of information clicked, and I could finally apply it to help me reach my financial potential.

As a personal advice columnist for Slate Magazine, I answer your juiciest money questions with expert interviews. I also write about money for Buzzfeed, GOBanking Rates, Keeper Tax, The College Investor, Prudential, and many more. You can say my ADHD has led me to gain the knowledge needed to help you live a life you love.
